![]() E-commerce Services from the National Australia Bank Client: None (internal procedure) Project Overview: The National Australia Bank (NAB) provides a service called the National Secure Internet Payment Service (NSIPS). This is an e-commerce online payment facility that we provide to a user/customer on behalf of our clients. SGS contracted NAB to implement this system as part of our web marketing services. This adds value to the services that we provide to our clients and their customers. With NSIPS, there is no need for a payment gateway, which would have meant that the responsibility of the security and encryption of data would fall to SGS. The NAB's NSIPS system enables customers to pay for products and services online. The security of the service is provided by the NAB. This means that the customer's credit information is safe. Challenge: · To set up SGS's CRM system such that it is able to verify that payment had indeed been approved/accepted by the NAB · To link the NSIPS to SGS's sales order system so that orders can be processed after payment has been approved Solution: SGS has built an automated system of verification that is linked to NSIPS. For each web site that we build for a client which requires e-commerce/Internet payment facilities, the client's customers are now able to use the NSIPS system. The security afforded by this system to our clients' customers is of great value to our clients and guaranteed by the National Australia Bank. The client's web site, the payment service and the sales order process is integrated with our warehouse system to ensure that products are shipped quickly when payment is confirmed. Project Details: For web sites that SGS creates for clients which require a processing of payment, the following happens: · Customer goes to web site (created by SGS) · Customer decides to buy a client's product(s) off the web site, clicks on "buy" button · A form comes up, requesting customer's payment / credit card details · Customer fills in form and clicks on "submit" button · Customer's data and payment details are passed through to NAB immediately - SGS does NOT keep user's credit card details · NAB processes payment and sends email of confirmation to SGS (whether or not payment has been successful) · SGS has a fully automated system that monitors these emails and updates our sales order system accordingly · The sales order is automatically processed and the product is shipped. |
